Better Late

Noel Holston

Better Late, Noel Holston's debut CD, begun in 2009, is an album of his songs performed by a stellar assortment of Athens musician friends, among them Rick Fowler, Michael C. Steele, the Georgia Sirens and Seth Hendershot. Holston's lyrics have drawn comparisons to composers ranging from Stephen Sondheim to John Prine. His songs previously have appeared on CDs by his wife, Marty Winkler, and have gotten airplay from coast to coast. "Liquid," performed by Marty, was selected for the 2008 Athfest sampler. His album is "late" as the result of his going deaf in 2010, a life-changing experience chronicled in his memoir Life After Deaf: Misadventures in Hearing Loss and Recovery, published by Skyhorse in 2019.
